Red Light District - Home

Early morning start today! Woke up at 6.15 and got ready for all you can eat breakfast at 'Gardenia' (ehe who else is reminded of ff8 right here) which was in the lobby of the hotel. and man. If i could eat endlessly like a certain teeny tiny bf i have, i would've gone nuts cuz everything was SO DAMN NICE. English breakfast? try buttered croissants, bacon, eggs and hash browns. Japanese Breakfast? Of course there's rice and miso! plus fruit =D FOOD!

This was the Japanese Garden that was outside our hotel. It was small and nice with a waterfall, and lots of Japanese Carp (Koi) in the pond. i took photos with my sisters there as we explored.

But there was no stopping to rest as next we were off to our accommodation for the next 2 weeks, the Roppongi Duplex Tower in Roppongi!

After our 90 minute mini0bus ride we pulled up outside the apartment building and lugged our bags inside. We met with the manager and given the keys to apartment 1206. I wondered what the room would be like and how big the apartment would be. Couldn't wait to get settled!
When we stepped in, it was AWESOME. Everything is so neat and very compact and had everything we needed. Needless to say, i was gonna enjoy being here for the next two weeks. i really felt like home.

So nice right? ^^
Anyway so after settling in we headed straight back out to check out the area. There are many restaurants, cafes , convenience stores and other things here...Roppongi also has alot of American places like Hard Rock Cafe and Starbucks =) We stopped at a 'Marche Roppongi' to buy some snacks and then we headed to take the subway.

Now the subway in here was way underground so i found that to get to a station the stairs were almost endless. The ticket system takes a bit of getting used to and confusing without some help first. The subway station itself is a labyrinth of walkways, stairs, vending machines, and people! Even at off-peak times, its much busier than Melbourne railways. Also, it almost doesn't matter if u miss a train because the next one is never too far away.

We were headed to Shibuya, a place known for young Japanese 'Gyaru' Fashion.

The building to the left was 'Shibuya 109'. It was about 8 floors and basement floors absolutely fully dedicated to young women's clothing. In other words, it was asian clothing shopping paradise! Any and every style is represented in this place and there is just too much to look at, we hardly had enough to time visit every floor! So if your ever in Japan for clothes, the place to go.
Another thing about the place is the abundance of bleached blonde, heavy made-up, fashionable girls. They all literally look the same...i mean the clothes u could wear to a night club here u can wear during the day here and it would be very normal. in a simple shorts and t-shirt, i felt very very under-dressed .__.

I also spent $100 today TT__TT i think im gonna be spending about that much everyday...theres just so much to buy over here ! ^^ do a post on my purchases soon!

anyway til next time ^^
