The Hotel Stop

1. Japan (16/9/10 - 3/9/10)

I'm sure this kind of dream is common to about 100 gazillion japanese pop culture devotees... But, since finding out that Sailor Moon was anime, and anime was from Japan (as we know it now anyway) hence falling in love with Neon Genesis Evangelion, i've wanted to travel to this intriguing country. And im sure this is familar - the obsession - suddenly developing drawing skills, calling everything 'kawaii desu' and dialup downloading the latest Japanese pop (which was like gibberish but it SOUNDED good!) only fueled this damn affair. but thats totally history now~

From a 6.10am flight from Melb, i flew to Cairns and transferred onto the flight to Narita Airport, Japan. Landing at about 8.00pm Tokyo time, i immediately felt the humidity of Tokyo coming out of Summer into Autumn. It was hot and humid, the kind which makes your shirt stick to your skin.
We spent the night at Tokyu Hoteru, the airport hotel for the night which was good as there were three rooms for my family and my aunts family.

This is a picture of the first place we ate at in japan called 'Azuma'. It had stone-grilled steak bentoh sets. We all got given a small stone plate that was sizzling and cooked out own raw food. It was a fairly nice meal albeit expensive! The steak here is always in small portions and very fatty, which i my opinion is much tastier ...however whenever i eat i always want more meat! also, the crockery they use here is always so cute or very innovative. I really had to stop myself from stealing their soup bowls aha.

Anyway so for that night, it was late and we were all jet-lagged so we didn't do anything else ==' However it was still hard to sleep because of all the anticipation of the days to come. and also because there was this outside our room

Vending Machine room O.o Pretty much quite unique i think, cuz i've been to a few hotels and i've never seen something like this before =P It even had noodles! midnight snack much 8)

anyway time to sleep. jaa! so tired =='
